Location

The Ionian Islands are a stunning archipelago located off the western coast of mainland Greece in the Ionian Sea.

Time zone

The Ionian Islands follow Eastern European Time (EET), which is UTC+2. During daylight saving time (late March to late October).

Tthey switch to Eastern European Summer Time (EEST), which is UTC+3.

  • Fiskardo (Kefalonia): A picturesque, upscale harbor popular with luxury yachts.

Local Cuisine: The food here is distinct from the rest of Greece, heavily influenced by centuries of Venetian rule. Must-try dishes include:

  • Sofrito: Thinly sliced veal cooked in a white wine, garlic, and parsley sauce (Corfu).

  • Pastitsada: A hearty meat stew served with thick pasta and a signature spice blend.
