Location

The Cyclades are a stunning group of islands in the central Aegean Sea, arranged in a circle around the sacred island of Delos.

Known for their iconic white-washed architecture, blue-domed churches, and rugged volcanic landscapes, the Cyclades are easily accessible by air and sea, with major gateways including Mykonos (JMK) and Santorini (JTR) airports, as well as the busy ferry ports of Piraeus and Rafina.

Currency

The official currency is the Euro (€). Credit cards are widely accepted.

 

But it’s always handy to have some cash for small purchases, especially in rural areas or local markets.

Time zone

The Cyclades follow Eastern European Time (EET), which is UTC+2. During daylight saving time (late March to late October)

 

Tthey switch to Eastern European Summer Time (EEST), which is UTC+3.

Climate

The Cyclades enjoy a Mediterranean climate with a unique characteristic: the Meltemi winds.

    Summers (June to September): Hot and dry, with temperatures around 30°C . The strong north winds (Meltemi) provide a cooling effect but can make the seas choppy.
